ABOUT CURATED CHANGE
Incia founded Curated Change for one simple reason: to provide fully-remote clinical mental health counseling and coaching services tailored to support people who are navigating the exhausting and uncertain world we all live in.
Incia’s Approach to Therapy
No two people are the same, and therefore, it would be unfair to apply the same methodology to every single client in the standard way. Incia’s approach involves finding a custom blend of techniques to specifically address what each client would see improvement with. By curating her approach for every client, they can feel confident knowing that their concerns are being addressed with evidence-based treatment, thoughtfulness, and a warm, welcoming environment.
-
Person-centered therapy, also known as Rogerian therapy, is a humanistic approach to psychotherapy developed by Carl Rogers. It focuses on creating a supportive and empathetic environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. This type of therapy is at the core of every session with every client to help facilitate safety and comfort throughout treatment.
-
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a form of psychotherapy that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression, PTSD and anxiety disorders. This is especially effective with anxiety treatment, building self-worth, and reframing daily stressors to make them feel much more manageable.
-
Exposure therapy is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that involves gradually exposing a person to their feared situations or objects in a safe and controlled environment. The goal is to help them reduce their anxiety and avoidance behaviors. This is especially helpful for folks struggling with specific phobias, such as germaphobia, claustrophobia, and severe social phobia.
-
Psychoanalytic therapy is a form of talk therapy that helps people understand how their past experiences influence their present lives. It's based on the idea that painful feelings can remain in the unconscious mind and impact a person's mood, behavior, and relationships. This is especially helpful for folks wanting to unpack past trauma and better understand how they are currently being impacted.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a psychotherapy that helps people develop psychological flexibility and adapt to challenges. It's based on mindfulness, acceptance, and values. This is especially helpful for folks who are often worried about the future and feel they cannot engage in the present.
-
Psychotherapy is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction, to help a person change behavior, increase happiness, and overcome problems. This is especially helpful for interpersonal issues, working on building better habits, and changing how we feel overall.
